While you may not be going many places, you’re most likely still finding ways to enjoy the outdoors. Before you get your backyard tan, consider these healthy skin tips.
1. Stay hydrated- this may seem like a simple tip but many people don’t realize that they are not hydrating as often as they should.
It is important to drink at least 8-12 cups of water per day and more if you are active. Using a reusable water bottle helps gauge your drinking habits and positively impacts the planet.
Additional hydration can be achieved through foods such as watermelon and cucumbers. (Or you can add them to your water!)
2. Clean your skin- Summer heat and sweat go hand in hand. Be sure to wash your skin to clean out unwanted dirt and apply moisturizer to restore the body’s natural oils. This helps the skin stay clear and hydrated.
3. Stay active-exercising helps promote healthy skin from the inside-out, according to dermatologist Ellen Marmur, MD in a WebMD article. It promotes healthy circulation and can ease stress which can reduce breakouts.
Whether you’re spending your quarantine days indoors or in nature, it’s important to still keep your skin healthy!
